Breakfast was good. Eventhough it's all the same stuff every single day, there's quite a lot and it's fresh. Our room was clean. Well done to our room keeper. We experienced some disadvantages, but still it's not bad value for money.
Staff was not "friendly enough". Sometimes, when we came back, the receptionist wouldn't even say basic hello, not to mention lack of smile, or any other form of conversation. One guy was always reminding us that we "may" pay for our stay before checking out. When we were checking out the receptionist/member of staff wanted to rip us off for 10 euro using currency exchange as excuse.

The building was traditional. Taksim district won't disappoint you. We strongly recommend it with confidence...

Tayhan hotel was renovated in 2010 and all rooms and bathrooms are clean and well furnished. Under floor heating is excellent on cold days. We had a 6th floor room with great view of Blue Mosque and Marmaron sea.Staff are very helpful, assisted with taxi directions and airport transfers. Breakfast is the usual Turkish cornflakes, salad, olives, boiled eggs and bread . We bought fruit and own coffee and took it to breakfast to suppliment range.Lots of small local "pick & eat" restaurants nearby , where a meal costs Euro 2- to Euro 5- per head. One grilled Sea Bream fish was Lira 6- (Euro 3-), lentil soup was Lira 1-. No wine ,or beer in these restaurants. Tourist restaurants( four times more expensive) are 5 minutes walk away. There are 2 convenience stores nearby selling beer (Lira 3 per bottle),wine, snacks, fruit etc and 2 supermarkets next door and a great cake shop opposite. It is a residential area and lots of shops and facilities. Taxis are easy to get, and Topkapi is Lira 10- from hotel or a 20 minute walk. Tram station at Beyazit (Grand Bazaar) is 10/15 minutes walk uphill or Lira 4- in a taxi. Tram links to all tourist sites , including Dolmabache Palace across Galata bridge and costs Lira 1.75 per trip of any distance. Free wifi generally good
Wifi signal was lost from time to time for 10 minutes but we were told this was because we were on the 6th floor. It worked well in ground floor lobby on our own laptops.

During our family vacation, we stayed in a hotel in the central area which was central to the main tram line. We loved the convenience of being able to easily access all major monuments and attractions. the location was near to the center and within walking distance to the nearest train line. the room was cozy and clean, with a sparkling bathroom that had no drainage issues. the staff at reception was friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered a simple yet filling variety of food. the hotel offered great value for money with its facilities and advantages.

Great location close to all the main attractions. the continental breakfast was delicious and had a good variety of options. the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room could have been cleaner and the bathroom was a bit small. It was also quite noisy at night due to the close proximity to cafes and restaurants.

Decent hotel with friendly staff who speak good English. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the breakfast buffet included fresh fruit and a variety of items. Plus, the hotel is located close to historical sites and attractions, making it a convenient base for exploring the city.
The area surrounding the hotel is a bit rundown, with steep hills that can be tiring to walk up. It's also noisy at times as it's located on a busy street.

it's about 15 minute walk from the blue mosque, but away from the turisty area, so it's easy to find good/inexpensive food.
the first night, I had two twin beds, instead of a double. (they change me to a double the next day)

The hotel is close to city center. It takes about 6-10 minutes to climb the hill to the tram station and Grand Bazar entrance. Good quality / price ratio. Clean bathroom, friendly staff. Staff speaks english. I'm used with diffrent quality for 3 *** range hotel, but over all it's ok.
It would be better if they put some clothes hookes in the bathroom.

The location was good as it was close to Sultan Ahmet and the adjoining areas of interest in Istanbul. The only negative is that it is a long walk downhill from the main road which made it very difficult with baggage etc. Aidan was quite hospitable and helpful .
